Luxury on a mountain scale

At The Alpine Estate, the mountains are part of the room. Tall windows rise to the vaulted ceiling of the great room, where a broad sectional faces the stone fireplace. Beyond the glass, a dining deck and lower spa terrace look across wooded slopes. This 6,000-square-foot Killington home welcomes up to 16 guests in a setting that feels generous without losing the warmth of a mountain house.

Come together, then choose your own evening

The main level connects the great room, dining table and kitchen, so the cook remains part of the conversation. A substantial range, broad island and long counters make group meals practical. There is a separate breakfast nook for early risers, a coffee station, and a wet bar beside the dining area. The built-in grill and outdoor table take dinner onto the deck when the weather suits.

Downstairs, the games lounge has a pool table, foosball and a card table beside another seating area and fireplace. A separate arcade room offers another place to play. Some guests can watch a film while others keep a game going, without taking over the great room.

Mountain air and a private swim spa

The outdoor swim spa and fire-pit seating share a terrace facing the mountains. Above it, the deck has lounge seating, a dining table and a built-in grill. Spa use is included for peak ski-season weekends from late December to mid-March. An optional $195 setup fee applies at other times.

Five bedrooms across the house

The primary bedroom looks toward the mountains, with two full Murphy beds in its adjoining room. Upstairs bedrooms sit beneath sloped ceilings; both ground-floor bedrooms have sofa beds.

• Bedroom 1 (ground floor): king bed and sofa bed.
• Bedroom 2 (ground floor): king bed and sofa bed.
• Bedroom 3 (primary, main floor): king bed and two full Murphy beds.
• Bedroom 4 (second floor): king bed and queen bed.
• Bedroom 5 (second floor): king bed.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. There is also an additional full bathroom and a half bathroom, for 6.5 bathrooms total. Maximum occupancy is 16 guests. One upstairs queen shown in the gallery has been removed; Bedroom 5 now has a king bed only.

Private ski shuttle

On ski days starting Christmas Week, the free scheduled private shuttle runs three morning trips from the house to the lifts and two afternoon return trips. Service covers Snowshed, Rams Head and K1 Lodges. Check the current timetable before planning your departures; schedules and service may vary. Additional private trips from the house to the ski lifts and town are available for an extra charge.

Practical details

• Private home in Killington, Vermont, with mountain views and parking on the driveway.
• Wi-Fi, televisions, laundry facilities and dedicated gear-storage areas.
• Your Boarding Pass is the digital guide to the property, with arrival details, Wi-Fi information and local guides. Your access code appears there two hours before check-in.
• The home has stairs between levels. Winter tires and all-wheel drive are strongly recommended for winter travel.
• The primary renter must be at least 25. No pets, parties, events, indoor smoking or vaping. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM.
• Guests must complete the rental agreement and stay within the agreed occupancy, up to 16 people.
